Music of Halloween Haunt 2013: Advisory

I am sure some of my recent views are coming from those who may want to see what songs are being used in this year's Haunt. I understand that, though unfortunately I may not be able to post much (if any) of this year's music. Having quit my job at Knott's, I am no longer there "all the time" (read: ever), and therefore cannot identify music I haven't heard. If you desperately want something identified, please send me a link to a video or something where I can try to figure out what song you are referring to, otherwise I will not be able to compile a list of this year's music.

As always, I will happily accept any reader submissions, if you would like to contribute to this blog. As a "group effort", I, and other readers, appreciate any contributions to the list of musical selections heard around the park. If you would like to submit a song, please be sure to include the title and artist of the exact version of the song used, and where it is heard. If you know the song but do not know the version of it that is used, please let me know, and I will see what I can do to find it. Links to listen to the songs, perhaps on Youtube, help greatly as well.

Thank you for your understanding, and I will do my best to add whatever possible to this list. Be sure to share this blog with your fiends friends!

Happy haunting!

  1. Hello! I'm trying to find the piano track that plays in the saloon in Gunslinger's Grave. I really like ragtime music and am wondering what it is. Link to video: http://youtu.be/_wMb7baEQzo?t=2m47s

    1. Hi, I am trying to see if I can find exact details on that particular song, but I do recognize it as a faster version of "Mad World" (by Gary Jules) played on an upright piano in a choppy "ragtime" fashion. Whatever it is, I can tell you the song is definitely Mad World.

  2. Hi! I was at Halloween Haunt last night and heard a song I really liked as I was leaving the park. I believe the area I was in would have been considered Ghost Town tho I'm not entirely sure. It was near the entrance. It was a woman singing.

  3. Hi, just wondering, in general does Knotts have someone in the park that programs the music or do they have muzak piped in? I heard a dance song playing in the Charleston Circle area, at night and can't figure out what it was. :/

    1. I wish I could help identify that song for you! Unfortunately since I stopped working at KBF, I rarely ever go (I don't have a pass). When I worked there, they had a set selection of songs that would loop in each area, not a radio station or anything. It's their own selection. Or was. I don't know if it has changed. In Boardwalk (Charleston Circle included), they typically play "Top 40s" music from different decades. At night recently, well, they might play different things during Berry Bloom, unless that has ended. If you have a smart phone, there is an super helpful app called "Shazam". You simply open the app and touch the screen and it will identify whatever song can be heard at that time. It has helped me A LOT, and if you happen to be back at the park any time soon and choose to try this, you can also help keep this list updated if you would like. I'd like to make this a collaborative effort, since I'm not there anymore. I will accept song additions from anyone, I only ask that it is the SAME version used in the park, otherwise I will need to hear the song so I can try to identify it.
Thanks for reading, and hopefully I'll be able to get back to the park some time and see what songs I can add to this blog!
